Sure, everyone’s enemy, Covid, was the trigger but…

—> No more geographic barriers. Companies that only hired where they had physical locations are now hiring the best talent and they can sit anywhere.
—> People who didn’t thrive in an office, social setting perhaps due to different abilities now have new doors open for them.
—> Companies have new roles that they’ve never had before.
—> More companies are offering what I like to call extreme flexibility to meet the demand of talent they want to attract and retain, from schedules to PTO and child care assistance benefits are becoming individualized.
—> Money! Pay rates are rising rapidly across the board and the biggest companies are just saying yes when it comes to negotiations.
People are leaving for skill development and opportunity. They are seeking fulfillment and flexibility. Now more than ever, they are less and less attached to their companies.
“Here’s my notice” can be a very contagious phrase but so can “I got promoted!” and “HiFive Team! Great job today!
Where we invest our focus is what will thrive. So I propose, let’s stop wasting time talking about the Great Resignation and start focusing on turning it into the Great Engagement.

One of my team members was at a conference this week and sat in a Keynote with Erica Dhawan on the concept of Connectional Intelligence to get “big things done,” regardless of who you are, where you live, or what you do.
