HireLevel Introduces 2ndChance Program for Job Seekers

HireLevel, a full-service Human Capital Management firm has recently announced its 2ndChance initiative to improve the employability of people with criminal records by working with employers and community partners to reduce risk and ensure candidates integrate smoothly into the workforce.
The HireLevel 2ndChance includes its online pledge through the Society for Human Resource Management online toolkit for businesses.

Research from SHRM found more than 82% of hiring managers polled in the US believe workers with a criminal history are hires that are equal to or more effective than hires without a criminal history.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 75% of individuals released from prison are still unemployed 1 year after release. What does this mean to us as employers? That there is an untapped pool of talent as skilled or more skilled than the candidates we are already hiring without second guessing our decision.
