HireLevel Helps Local Charity Combat Flood Damage From April Storms
Jun 9, 2017
(June 9th, 2017 – Marion, IL) Giving back to the community has always been a priority for the team at HireLevel powered by Extra Help, one of the region’s largest women-owned employment, payroll, and workforce services companies. When severe storms and heavy rain hit the Southern Illinois area at the end of April, many individuals and businesses were affected by extensive flood damage. The Lighthouse Shelter, a local homeless shelter located in Marion, IL, was one of the organizations heavily impacted by the flooding. That’s why HireLevel chose to take action, and make a #HireLevelDifference.
“It’s extremely important to our organization to give back, especially when something like this impacts our entire community,” said Teresa Katubig, President and CEO of HireLevel. “It’s events like these when it’s extremely important to help out, and get your community back in working order and better than it’s ever been.”
The Lighthouse Shelter lost over half of their furnishings due to 3” of contaminated water throughout the building. Since the damage was due to flood waters, unfortunately they were not covered by their insurance for any of the damages. A restoration crew came in immediately and helped remove excess water and helped prevent mold from ruining the building, but the organization still needs help! They are looking for volunteers to help with multiple repairs and replacements throughout the shelter so that they can re-open their doors to the many local individuals who call daily in need of housing.
If anyone is interested in helping out The Lighthouse Shelter, you can learn more about the organization at www.thelighthouseshelter.com or call (618) 993-8180 for immediate volunteer opportunities. You can also visit their Facebook page for updates on their progress.
