Teresa Katubig, President and CEO of HireLevel Receives Leadership Award from Southern Illinois University Carbondale

(May 2, 2016 – Marion, IL) Teresa Katubig, President and CEO of HireLevel powered by Extra Help, has spent the last 20 years building one of the region’s largest women-owned employment, payroll, and workforce management companies. Now, 20 years later, she has been nominated and received the Business Leader of the Year Award from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale’s College of Business.
Every year, SIUC’s College of Business recognizes a person who has shown a lifetime of commitment to a career in business and the generation of economic benefit to Southern Illinois. To be considered for this specific award, one must live within one of the 19 counties in Southern Illinois, demonstrate outstanding leadership, and obtain a position of prominence within their field.
“I’m honored to receive such an award,” said Katubig. “I’m a firm believer in keeping business local, as well as supporting all local businesses within Southern Illinois. The economic value is substantial, and it’s great for our community growth and advancement.”
Katubig, an SIUC alum, started her business in 1995 working out of a small office in Johnston City, IL. Extra Help, Inc., her business name at the time, began to grow and with that growth came more offices where the desire for business was needed. HireLevel now has eight offices and counting, including their Marion location which is located right in the heart of Southern Illinois.
“Southern Illinois has shown not only myself, but my business so much support over the years. Getting my degree at SIUC was beneficial when growing my network, and providing me with the skills and tools to help make HireLevel what it is today,” said Katubig. “I appreciate this award because to me, it comes from a community who appreciates our services and supports what we are trying to do daily.”
